Class 92 Electric Locomotive OO & N gauge- Initial Deposit

SKU: DJM-CL92 Categories: , ,

Built between 1993 and 1996 these dual voltage locomotives have now seen service over the Southern Region to the Channel tunnel, and into France, and over most parts of the overhead electric mainlines in the rest of the UK.

Initially some were stored in Warwickshire pending control equipment for signalling to be fitted, and the class has led a colourful life with lots of different liveries with Triple Grey, EWS, DBS, Caledonian and even Eddie Stobart liveries.

Only 46 were built but they all remain and have proven themselves to be very capable and reliable locomotives.

The model will be available in both N and OO gauge options. The DJM model is driven on all wheels, on both bogies, uses a cordless motor and features Next18 (N Gauge)/Next 22 (OO Gauge) DCC compatibility with correct light configurations possible, and of course it is designed around a DCC speaker to get the best from the engine using this control method. Lighting is directional (with day and light modes), and there is a switch for turning the rear lights off.

The roof has a wealth of detail including etched grilles (where possible) and separate parts making this model a standalone in terms of detail and accuracy, plus there are two scale plastic posable pantographs. Elsewhere on the model, which has darkened wheel profiles, there are fully modelled, and painted cab interiors, etched nameplates, polo mint tunnel logos, depot plaques and arrows (where necessary).

A heavy chassis with flywheels, NEM Coupler pockets, a close-coupling system, and fully rendered livery for each model produced will mean this locomotive will haul a prototypical long freight or even passenger train. For those that do not require a front coupler, replacement valences with no coupling hole are included (N Gauge Only).

There are a variety of livery options, all of which only require a £30 deposit at this stage, regardless of your choice of N or OO gauge. The models are priced at £130 each, with the final payment being due closer to delivery. Please note the Limited Edition option of 92017 in the Stobart Rail colour scheme will only be produced in very limited numbers and is priced at £167.95.
